Is my writing emotional?

I think this is really good. Especially the feeling that you've given the mother. I could be misinterpreting it but the way I see it, she doesn't know if what she's doing is right. She's not only trying to convince her son, but also herself of that. And then I think you also did really good with Peter. In my mind he really doesn't want to lose his grip on her and he's completely devastated of the fact that his mother is abandoning him. x
