Do black holes bend space in the same way as time?

Space and time are different things, aren't they? You can't phisically bend time. What actually happens is the black hole bends space, and that also affects time in the vicinity (it slows down). Curvature of space is what causes gravity. So there's nothing magical about bending of space that would allow us make a hyperspace jump like in Star Wars. Bending of space simply means things will accelerate towards the black hole.
