Probation Question?

My friend recently moved to New York City and left her cheating boyfriend behind. He is on probabtion for numerous things, including evading arrest, running, and drinking & driving in. He's a moron to say the least. My friend has been with him off and on since highschool when he was a better person and now she can't let go of him. Anyway he took off to New York and showed up at her apartment unannounced. She doesn't want to call the police because she loves him, but she really can't afford to support him and she knows it's wrong to keep him there. My question is if someone notifiys his probabtion officer here in Michigan that he's left state, what action can they do? Will he get in trouble in New York? Can she get in trouble or keeping him there?
