So why can we carry guns and not swords?

Thought of this recently, as a major sword fanatic. Guns seem infinitely more deadly due to longer range and increased "invisibility", as in can hide the pistol much easier than the sword. Both can be used in self defense, and the biggest obstacle to swords being worse is the "unlimited ammo" factor, which kinda is made up for by extremely limited range. Plus im pretty sure right to bear arms would include swords, so its also our constitutional right. Any and everyones thoughts on this are welcome, i just want to see what everyone else thinks.
