Is a distance education degree not eligible for pursuing PhD? Is it valued or not in the industry? Please help?

From my experience, in order to get accepted to a respected PhD program you must not do your education online. I have yet to meet or hear of anyone doing a PhD after doing an online degree. The program you are describing seems like a decent distance learning program, but they just aren't well respected in academia.
