Anyone know about construction pricing?

Me and my husband are ready to move out of the penthouse and move into a house. I think that instead of buying someonelses house we should build our own. About 3000-4000 sqft.No kids yet, but we grew up with big family in big houses in italy, so we want to re-create it for our family! Anyone have an esimate on how much it might cost?
